Loved how this one turned out. A good reminder to sit with what we already know rather than scavenging for new unnecessary information.

I didn't know this backstory with you Rik. It seems you are lightyears ahead of what you're describing in your past. You always have a truly grounded and helpful energy about you since I've known you in Write of Passage. I recently hit a similar wall of rock bottom (physically) which was necessary before things turned around. Funny how tangible and physical things need to get before we shift.

Yes, tangible and physical it sure needed to get and it took a while to get the message for me. Not getting into action unless it's absolutely necessary seems to be a very human (or even animal) quality though. Thanks for the compliment, I'd take 'grounded and helpful' any day ;)

Yup, we be embodied creatures after all so makes sense that the body has got to be put on the line to evoke our full participation.

Great idea of "fasting" applied to information diet, Rik! I can totally relate: I used to watch podcasts on 2.5x speed to get through "more," all to learn that I'd learned nothing at all, lol.

This is a great reminder. I've also found that doing notecards helps me be more deliberate about my diet. You're so right: perfectionism is fucking exhausting haha.

Cheers,

Baxter

Ah yes, I had the same podcast/video habit. It's so opposite to digesting anything. More is not better. Good to hear I'm not the only one getting exhausted by perfectionism though ;) Sounds like you're doing better now as well!

When people ask me for an example of POP, I'll send them this paragraph. All three elements at once. "This actually saved me though. When I hit an especially low point of physical and mental ill-being (suddenly seeing myself sit there as a sad pile of despair), it kind of ‘broke the spell’. I realized I needed to change and I knew how."
