After 30 years of family life and parenting I have several weeks to myself in my home and am enjoying being able to eat, sleep, work etc according to what feels right just for me, my body, my schedule. There is so much compromising within a family that goes on around both the content and the timing of food. I don't mind that so much, but it's a real pleasure to only have one person to satisfy in the food department for a little while.
Things get really interesting when you finally have a clear and disciplined sense of the food that works for your body, and then as your kid grows they go through their own phases of being picky about what they'll eat, and what they won't. Then you get to decide whether to stick with eating your own food only, or eating copious amount of random left-overs instead of just throwing them away. Pizza crusts, PB & J, soggy cereal, cold veggies, yum!
Water is so underrated. I'd love to have a sit-down with a glass of water with you one day!
So true! If we keep a sit-down it in our minds, it's bound to happen :)

Yes, the family ecosystem is a universe in itself. Can't fully relate yet with a 10-month old, but I'm sure I will ;)
