Double the stubbornness - she's going to grow up with so much conviction. Your perseverance on wanting the best for her is inspiring.

"There’s a big difference between ‘learning’, where the obligation would make at least some sense, and ‘attending a school’, which is what this law actually enforces. So it’s an obligation to attend effectively." - Unfortunately, this describes the UK schooling system.

It's one of the reason why more people in the UK are home schooling than ever before.

Hi Mak! That makes sense. So homeschooling is allowed in the UK then?

It's allowed but the government pushes (and sometimes harasses) parents to put their kids into school.

Wow, that's depressing. In Holland it's not allowed at all and it has the same vibe of 'sometimes harassing' in what I hear from parents trying to find other ways.

I think it’s good to be stubborn, especially when you want a better future for your daughter. I recommend

reading the works from Dr. Peter Gray, John Holt, and Naomi Fisher.

This resonates deep for me having a three-year-old and one-year-old at home. I appreciate your willingness to be a leader in this plight and putting a name to the mindset of parents who are attempting to guide the next generation into a 'love of learning' and not just part of a system of obedience. It feels like an obligation. Stubbornness is such a potent force to harness in this journey and hope you write more on where you land with this over time!
