It's very heartening to see how much thought goes into your parenting. I was never aware that praises were all about the result until my partner, who's a kindergarten teacher, say they opt for "you worked really hard" encouragements vs praises. It sounds challenging to tune into that mindset at home every day, but if anyone can do it, it's definitely the Conversation Starter guy!

Sounds like I could learn a thing or two from your partner. I really find it way more difficult with my daughter (and children in general) than in my coaching practice weirdly.

I read a book when my wife was pregnant that said you should never tell your child “you’re really smart” when they do good on a test or assignment, but instead should say “you worked really hard.” Maybe your partner read the same book 😊

I agree with Rik, though. When it comes to your child, it can be difficult to practice what you know in your head to be correct.
